Neglection

I haven't posted anything in the longest of long times and i feel kind of bad but ive been busy - turning 18, studying for the hsc, watching skins to procrastinate, going out, not going out, reading (jim morrison poetry to be exact, my sister gave me lords and new creatures) and well i guess that wasnt that much. im very lazy :)

Another form of procrastination was all the movies Ive seen recently,

Yesterday I saw The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. I got the feeling my friends didnt like it but i thought it was amazing. it was just like a dream, you have no idea whats going on but everythings usually very beautiful. lily cole was gorgeous to look at but annoying to listen to which disappointed me. Heath ledger was great but better as the joker in my opinion. the little guy was awesome, percy or whatever. i want to keep him in my pocket

I also saw An Education which naturally i loved because it was set in england in the early 60s, an era i personally think i should have been alive for but nevermind. It was a little creepy what with the 16 yr old being paired off with a 30 something yr old man. and she should have gotten together with that smitten little lad in the first place and avoided the whole kerffufle ( i cant find a bloody picture of him so ill leave him up to ur imagination). In fact i had a dream about him last night. i was in the bathroom with some friends, a big public bathroom, and he came in with a piece of paper that hed set on fire and was asking me why i didnt love him and his name was george and i was like 'no dont be silly george' or something like that and then he goes 'my names seth now!' and he was really angry and i was scared and then some other girl comes out and was all 'ive always loved you seth' and they went off together and i was really jealous. i never get what i want in real life and apparently not in my dreams either.
But a friend called this morning who i haven't spoken to in ages and we talked for a good half an hour so now im happy.

3 am

firstly i was going to try and give all my new posts titles names of songs, and then i kinda stopped doing that, so now i cant be bothered. so how about instead of a title ill just tell you what Im listening to at the time of each post. sound good? yeah i thought you'd agree.

well right now im listening to '2080' by Yeasayer but now that feels kinda random just shoving it in there. oh well whatever.....

And now for the real reason for this post:
Ok so this one time my friends and i had this harry potter marathon (yes were cool - but i would like that stricken from the record cos harry potter - no offense - bores me now) and anyway we decided at like 3 in the morning that we were hungary so we trekked it to this 24-hr cafe called Maisy's just for funsies (ps: go to maisy's if you can, ill be there and you can say hi - or you can get judged by all the scene people that go there, always lots of fun). so the point is i had my camera and i took all these tripped out light photos of maribel and ari (the two totally awesome people i was with - lol ari your reading this right now) and so i thought id show them to you, whoever you are :)
tadaaahhh:

Food For Thought #1

So My present to you today is some Dylan Thomas poetry. I recently acquired a book of it and now every time I whip it out to read at work or on the bus, people take to staring at me. Whats so odd about a teenage girl reading poetry? Would you prefer if i was reading twilight? You'd need to kill me first.

But the point is that my new appreciation for the work of Thomas is partly due to 'edge of love' a movie made about the section of his life where his marriage begins to break down so naturally his poetry becomes better. It was magical, set half in London (underground as was the rage during the bombings of WWII) and half by the sea in Wales (its cold and grey and windy and magnificent).

But enough of that, here is your present:

Clown in the Moon

My tears are like the quiet drift
Of petals from some magic rose;
And all my grief flows from the rift
Of unremembered skies and snows.

I think, that if I touched the earth,
It would crumble;
It is so sad and beautiful,
So tremulously like a dream.

DYLAN THOMAS

Tell Me what you think.

{Its ok, ill take the '0 comments' to actually mean everyone is so moved by it that they cannot possibly put their thoughts into words} :)

Horchata

'Here comes a feeling you thought you'd forgotten'
- Horchata, Vampire Weekend

Ok so I haven't posted in aggeessss (i totally have an excuse though - study camp, yes study camp, I'm just cool like that - the thing is i figured i could study my heart out for like a week and then just not study until the day before my exams, turns out it doesn't really work like that. Why is everything always more fun in my head?), and this is only my second post ever and I still haven't figured out how i can make my blog not cut off the super-cool-awesome right side edges of my photos so all around i fail at blogging. but you know what, practice makes perfect (even if perfection is unattainable). So yeah.

I spent so much time explaining myself that ive realised i actually have nothing to write about ...hmmm.....

oh wait i remember now :)

Vampire Weekend lovers eat your heart out!(you know i've never understood that saying, why would anyone want to eat their hearts out, im a vegetarian so personally i have a problem with that): my wonderous friend ari recently graced me with a link to a free download of they're new song 'horchata' (which i googled and found it to be some funky sort of mexican/spanish beverage). Theres no need for me to post it though or two main reasons:
1) no one reads this blog. yes the truth hurts
2) the link is nothing special, its just the vampire weekend website ...... find it yourself :)

Well lifes pretty boring at the moment. the only thing that makes me happy is Charlie my Nikon. and the word 'Papillon' (its french for butterfly)
