I dont know why i didnt think of it before, i should have done a post about the maccabees a hundred years ago. Now i dont know where to start ....
Well firstly, theyre names are wondrous. They found their band name by flicking through the bible, the lead singers called orlando and the two brother guitarists in the band are called Felix and Hugo. Im going to save those names and use them for my future children (well adopted children cos im not ashamed to say im friggen scared of childbirth - im needle-phobic) or my future cameras which i like to name (theres nothing wrong with that - in fact that reminded me, ill do a post about my new cameras sooner or later).
Secondly they naturally have amazing music, only two albums, but both so different its like two different bands and at the same time not.....
Orlandos also a really talented artist (i love that im talking about him like i know him personally)and he did the cover art and the art from their film clips on the first album. i discovered that he also helped with the design of jack penate's latest album (in one of those really awesome moments where you see a name you recognise somewhere completely different and then you all of a sudden realise that two of your favourite artists are actually friends. crazy. i think they must have met because felix was in a band with jack called jack's basement. sorry if im boring you but this really fascinates me)

god i wish i was in a band but you see, im a girl and without being sexist, to my own kind, girls in bands are kinda lame. i so would not listen to my band if i was lead guitarist or drummer or bass guitarist or anything really. well maybe if i was the random hippy tambourine player that blows in from time to time to play with the rest of the band live and has some amazing name like starla or aurora or indigo.
Damn i wish my name was indigo.
